What does "africa action" do?

The main focus of the cooperation and partnership with its African partners is in following areas:

• Prevention of blindness
• Eye care and basic health services
• Provision of health care equipment, tools and materials
• Rehabilitation of persons with disabilities and support to their education
• Human resource development
• Fight against poverty.

We support preventive disposition against cataract, blindness and other disabilities and also donations of rehabilitation for persons with blindness/visual impairment, those with disabilities and their families.

We develop in collaboration with our African partners, optical centres and health clinics and support them with equipments and medicines.

We equip optical workshops with machines and tools for the production of spectacles.

We support training for local collaborators in projects in order to help them achieve social and economic independence and autonomy.

We organize in collaboration with German volunteer doctors surgical operations for the blind and finance these operations for those who cannot afford the cost.

We act as mediators by creating conducive working relations between the German and African partners.
