DZI label - sign for reliance

Since 1994 the German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI) in Berlin annually certifies the aa/D after careful consideration special trustworthiness and a purposeful, economical and efficient use of donations.

Information regarding the DZI label

The DZI label can be applied for by all tax deductible organisations that carry out nationwide collection of donations. The initiative has to come from the organisation itself. The label has to be requested again annually. Till to September 2010 267 organisations have been awarded with the label.

The label-bulletin lists the organisations that have been awarded the label. The bulletin is updated twice a year. The list of the organisations awarded with the DZI label is also published in the internet and updated continually:

Award criteria

The criteria for being awarded with the label can be summarized as follows:

• true, clear and objective promotion
• verifiable and economic allocation of funds in accordance with the statutes
• clear and traceable accounting
• audit of the annual accounts and submission to DZI
• internal control of the managing board by an independent supervisory body
