The foundation WEITER SEHEN is a foundation in trusteeship of "africa action / Deutschland e.V." (aa/D, formely Ghana action) - Germany.
It was founded by Dr. Jürgen Rüttgers (Pulheim), Willy Trapp (Köln), Christoph Binger (Erkelenz) and Walter J. Zielniok (Bergheim) in 2002.
As per the statutes purpose of the foundation is the help for ophthalmic invalid and disabled persons in Africa as well as the training of domestic specialists for precaution, treatment and rehabilitation of blind and otherwise disabled people within the development-co-operation.
With this the foundation assures the development-work of aa/D that has been performed in Africa for more than 25 years.
The foundation fulfils its tasks by earnings of the foundation-property which means the foundation-property must not be depleted by payouts and may only be invested in speculation-secure ways. aa/D receives the interest income that is generated by the foundation-property as a contribution for financing its above stated tasks in accordance with the statutes.

The foundation WEITER SEHEN was recognized by the fiscal authorities Bergheim on 28/06/2004 as exclusively and directly serving tax-deductible purposes in terms of §§ 51 ff AO and it belongs to the corporations, associations and legal estates mentioned in § 5 para. 1 no. 9 KStG. The foundation is authorized to issue donation receipts according to the officially prescribed form for donations (endowments) that it receives for the purposes mentioned above.
Annually benefits of 20% of the total earnings may be deducted as special expenses. This regulation applies for individuals as well as for companies. Instead of this regulation companies may also take 0.4% of the total of revenues and salaries and wages paid in the respective calendar year as calculation basis for the maximum.
At request of the donor donations into the foundation's capital reserves are deductible up to a maximum of 1 million Euros in the assessment period and the following nine years, additional to the abovementioned maximum amounts.
